Edifier S2000 Pro: an Audiophile’s Dream Speakers

It’s no secret that we, here at Man of Style, are somewhat particular when it comes to the products we use for achieving good quality sound. Be it the latest noise cancelling in-ear spectacle or a solid portable speaker for around the house, there are a plethora of items out there in a somewhat saturated market, and it can be difficult to differentiate the good from the bad.

But with the introduction of the new Edifier S2000 Pro Bluetooth Bookshelf speakers, the product simply speaks for itself – we were truly blown away by the level of sound deliverance these relatively small speakers can produce.

Upon first glance, you can all but be amazed at the beauty and sophistication of these classically-styled speakers from Edifier – leaders of technically-engineered sound. The S2000 Pro Bookshelf speakers are by no means, ordinary speakers.

Here’s a look at the S2000 Pro…

Design

The S2000 Pro are a sight for sore eyes. Sporting stunning wood veneer side panels that are made from genuine birch and enriched in Mahagony, matte black paint with luxurious wood baffle plate flows, with the metallic mesh surface grill (which are removable) and beautiful gold pads underneath all coming together seamlessly to exemplify the stylish nature of these speakers.

Honestly, the S2000pro gives you the feeling of luxury and edgy all at the same time.

A closer look

The S2000 Pro are fitted with exceptional 5.5-inch Aluminium Cone Woofers which offer high strength, low distortion to produce a quality clean sound. Together they offer a nice balanced sound which will please the most astute listener. To our surprise, there was no distortion whatsoever when played at a high volume.

Adding another cool inclusion to these speakers are the 4 EQ settings (Vocal, Monitor, Classic, and Dynamic) which you can swap around according to your preference and mood.

The Planar flat diaphragm tweeters produce lovely high frequencies at a fast response rate, adding to the quality sound.

These speakers are quite loud and can comfortably fill a lounge or dining area with ease, producing precision sound quality. They can also be added to your TV as a HiFi set up for a boosted sound experience when watching movies, which is a fantastic bonus as these speakers aren’t limited to turntables or other similar devices.

At the rear of the active speaker, you will find a mix of controls and inputs. Firstly, there are three knobs which control your volume, bass and treble. The master volume can also control EQ input selection with a push of the button, and you will find inputs for RCA and RCA to AUX connections which allows you to add a CD player or a turntable to the mix, as we have pictured.

At the rear of both speakers, you will find the bass port but I must admit, an output for a subwoofer for that extra bass wouldn’t go astray…

The speakers are equipped with the Bluetooth 4.0 aptX Decoder which provides an incredible sound, straight from your phone, tablet, computer or laptop; a pleasant touch in our eyes.

The verdict

For a speaker that costs so little ($499.00), it’s two thumbs up to Edifier from us here at Man of Style. For anyone in the market for a pair of active speakers, the Edifier S2000 Pro should not be overlooked by any means.
