Last night in Sydney, the Ferrari F8 Tributo made its impressive Australian debut at the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Rozelle. Beyond special, the F8 Tributo truly encapsulates the excellence Ferrari is synonymous for.
At hand is a new mid-rear-engined sports car of the Prancing Horse’s classic two-seater Berlinetta range, which is a welcomed update to a long and noble bloodline of V8 Berlinetta’s.
It also happens to the most powerful V8 in Ferrari history! It is a car with unique characteristics that is beautiful from the inside out – a true testament to the elegant style of the Ferrari brand.
The F8 Tributo sets the market benchmark for performance, driving pleasure and ease of handling, making for an exhilarating performance of the best 8-cylinder in the world. But it’s also a Ferrari vehicle that is accessible to all drivers of all capabilities, thanks to its unprecedented handling and superior ride comfort; it brings out the best in Ferrari drivers.
Above all, the new Ferrari F8 Tributo is even faster, more powerful and more exciting to drive than ever, travelling from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds, 0-200km/h in 7.8 seconds, with a top speed of 340km/h.
Being the most powerful V8 ever to be mounted in a non-special series Ferrari, the F8 Tributo achieves new heights not just for turbos, but for engines across the board.
This widely-acclaimed, turbo-charged V8 has been used in other models in the Berlinetta range, winning “Best Engine” in the International Engine of the Year awards three years running in 2016, 2017 and 2018. In 2018, it was also awarded the title of the best engine of the last two decades.
What results is an engine without turbo lag and an overall smooth – yet powerful – experience that only Ferrari is known for.
The F8 Tributo’s lightness also delivers extra agility and responsiveness. Aerodynamics are improved, keeping the new Ferrari F8 Tributo glued to the road for a greater driving experience. This is especially noticeable at higher speeds, including out on the track (we’re looking at you, rev heads!).
Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, the F8 Tributo is essentially a bridge to a new design language that will continue to emphasise Ferrari’s key characteristics of high performance and extreme aerodynamic efficiency. It’s this state of the art technology and engineering that makes this vehicle the most aerodynamically efficient series-production mid-rear-engined Berlinetta ever designed.
The F8 Tributo replaces the 488 GTB and, in the range, is the model with the highest performance matched by the greatest driver involvement. There are significant improvements across the board aimed at providing even better control on the limit along with greater onboard comfort.
It’s fair to say that, in true Ferrari style, the launch of the F8 Tributo is not only a crowd-pleaser but it packs a hard-hitting punch. And we love it!
The Ferrari F8 Tributo is priced at $484,888 AUD plus on-road costs. It is due for Australian delivery in Q1 2020. For more information, visit the Ferrari website here
