Queenstown, New Zealand – for those who haven’t been – is God’s country in every sense of the word.
From roaring mountain ranges to pristine lakes; native flora and fauna to the lively town atmosphere, Queenstown has it all.
We recently took a trip to Queenstown – just 3 hours from Melbourne – to explore all of its beauty, and happened to stumble across possibly the best hotel and restaurant in town: QT Queenstown.
The Hotel
Sitting pretty in nature’s playground, QT Queenstown is a lush lakeside resort that presents striking comparisons to an alpine lodge one would find in Switzerland or France; a culmination of après-ski ambiance and adventure wonderland.
Incomparable views of the crystal clear Lake Wakatipu dominates the hotel’s viewpoints, whilst offering locals and tourists alike pure luxury that is rarely found in this little ski town.
The hotel boasts 69-boutique rooms created by renowned designer, Nic Graham. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and quaint; and uniquely QT. A Lake King room will get you uninterrupted views of the memorable Remarkable Mountains, and of course Lake Wakatipu; two major selling points for Queenstown itself.
With signature QT Gel Beds (possibly the comfiest beds we have ever slept in), marble bathrooms and an imaginative mini-bar – QT ticks off every imaginable aspect to a travellers check list.
The Bar & Restaurant
If you’re looking for a point of difference when dining out, picture this: an immersive and interactive dining experience amid a quaint yet design-driven ambiance, overlooking a money-can’t-buy view; The Remarkables.
That’s what you’re in for should you visit QT Queenstown’s Reds bar and/or Bazaar restaurant.
Reds is an ideal starting place for celebratory drinks or a casual evening tipple. Dominating the drinks menu are delicious cocktails waiting to be served and some of New Zealand’s finest wines – all served by Queenstown’s finest bartenders.
Raise a glass with friends and enjoy the spectacular views or a magnificent sunset over The Remarkables.
For adventurous foodies and pursuers of fine flavours, Bazaar will leave you unequivocally satisfied. On offer is an interactive dining experience that sees a mix of flavours and cuisines from all corners of the world, all in one place.
The space is alive and inviting, tempting you to take part in the delicious and theatrical mosaic of international cuisines. You will find chefs cooking before your eyes in a lively setting, showcasing fresh, local produce in new and innovative ways.
After going back for seconds (and thirds), we could easily say that we had one of the best dining experiences to date.
If you’re in Queenstown, be it a weekend, two weeks or a month, QT Queenstown cannot come more highly recommended for a visit; be it for drinks or for a meal.
