With the closing of the summer season, that all-too-familiar feeling of being plunged into a dark, cold, wintery abyss is fast approaching.
You’re right, that might sound somewhat melodramatic, but winter is around the corner. So, rather than embracing the doom and gloom, why not dust off your suitcase and let the experts handle the hard stuff, as you look forward to your next getaway, made easier with Luxury Escapes.
For a limited time only, Luxury Escapes brings to Melbourne its world-first ‘Holiday Lab’ pop-up that will not only determine the type of traveller you are but offer suggestions as to where you should jet-off to next.
So, whether you’re a tropical nomad or prefer to witness snow-capped peaks, the Holiday Lab and its sensual experience will be able to determine your ultimate getaway that awaits.
Essentially, the Holiday Lab brings the Luxury Escapes approach to life in an interactive experience, where consumers complete a series of sensory experiences to distil down their personalised travel recommendation.
“The Holiday Lab offers visitors the chance to design their own dream holiday through a range of interactive and immersive sensory experiences, including touch, taste and sound,” says Luxury Escapes CEO Cameron Holland.
“As consumers engage with each experience, their responses are tracked through a custom-developed algorithm which helps to build the consumer’s personalised travel persona and profile, offering them a tailored ‘remedy’ for post-holiday blues.”
Make it a reality
Ah yes, the notion of the dreaded post-holiday blues is a very real one at that, and one that seems to linger until your next holiday is booked.
Luxury Escapes commissioned research into the contributing factors behind these thoughts and feelings – which are referenced in the Holiday Lab design – and suggest that over 40% of Australian’s report feeling less positive after a holiday has ended, and over 60% report feeling a sense of dread on returning to the office.
The Holiday Lab was designed to combat these thoughts and feelings, encouraging a little spontaneity in booking the trip of your dreams.
“We’re known for our team of travel experts who spend months finding the best holiday experiences, personally testing them, and negotiating the best end to end travel experiences for our customers,” says Holland.
“Our Holiday Lab simply brings this curatorial approach to life in a fun, engaging setting.”
A mindful approach
Luxury Escapes and the Holiday Lab has teamed up with leading Australian doctor, mindfulness expert and founder of Mindful in May, Dr. Elise Bialylew, who helped design the concept of the Holiday Lab and its purpose.
“For those who are fortunate enough, travel can be a powerful way of boosting mental health; time off work to engage the brain in novelty is a potent way to re-energise, recharge and return to daily life with greater focus and enthusiasm,” says Dr. Bialylew.
“The Holiday Lab concept offers a playful way to explore what time off looks like for every individual and it was a pleasure collaborating with the Luxury Escapes team to offer a creative solution at a time of year where we’re naturally seeking out our next trip.”
“It’s an opportunity for everyone to get a mini escape from their everyday and plan their next adventure,” says Holland.
The Holiday Lab will run until March 7 and is located at 421 Bourke Street, Melbourne, open 11am-7pm daily.
